Pure Olive Oil for Soap making

For soap making it is vitally important that you know you are buying 100% pure olive oil and not an oil mixed with some other oil.  Each oil you use in soap making has its own SAP value.  If Olive oil  is mixed with other oils then the ratio of oils to lye water will be incorrect which could result in a soap being too oily or even worse, to caustic.  In Australia it is illegal to mix oils unless it specifically states the contents on the label.  In Europe the laws are more relaxed and there is a lot more mixing of oils.  With European imports you purchase  from the Supermarket you cannot guarantee you are getting 100% pure Olive oil.  You soon find out when you start making your soap and a soap you regularly make does not turn out as predicted after using an imported Olive oil from certain European countries.

At Robyn's Soap House we source our Olive oil straight from the local Olive groves and know we are purchasing the genuine product.

Hi Ivy, Whenever I pH test my soap it is always 7, so yes, it is pH neutral.
